Experimental Research on the Influence of DTBP on Diesel Engine Combustion and Emissions

According to the characteristics of di-tert-butyl peroxide (DTBP), such as low flash point, fast burning speed and easy decomposition at low temperature, it was mixed and burned with diesel to study the effect of DTBP on diesel engine combustion and emissions. Constant engine speed is 1400 r/min, and the volume fraction of DTBP in the mixed fuel is changed under different throttle openings. Studies have shown that when the diesel is mixed with a volume fraction of 0.3% DTBP under the test conditions, the comprehensive emission data of the diesel engine is optimal. Under this mixing ratio, the combustion duration can be extended, and the maximum combustion pressure can be achieved under the condition of basically the same torque Decrease. Diesel mixed DTBP combustion can reduce NOx, CO and HC emissions, especially when the throttle opening is less than 22%, the HC and NOx emissions are only 25%~33% when using diesel fuel.
